I have been a member of the chapter for just over six months and have been made to feel welcome and energised by it's members. My contact base has increased significantly, relations built with other members are solid and they do indeed promote me and my business positively.
There are some basic formalities however, it feels more like a club with lots of support given and received. My move to join BNI has been a positive one and has given me the opportunity to look at my business from a perspective.

The business referral organisation, as it’s known, or BNI must do whatever business you are in. Membership of the Business Networking international, allows access to fellow professionals whose knowledge and contacts will benefit you and your business immeasurably.
We met every week, follow a structured agenda that is designed to maximise business referrals between members of the group.
Personally, I have gained a great deal of business, made extremely useful business contacts and gained access to business acumen that I would not have had the opportunity to develop without BNI.

As a new comer and start up business, I joined BNI in January 2007 and filled the 'photographer' spot. It was a close call as two other photographers went to the same visitors day as me and had pens poised to join - I couldn't bear the thought of them getting their hands on what could be my business so I signed up and have never looked back!
Over the three years I have been a member, my business, Phase Photographic has come from just a few contacts and customers to one of Brighton’s most well established businesses.
Considering my weddings, portraits and corporate work, I have made at least £25,000 from my membership - that's a great return on the membership fee and is now my main source of marketing.
Other hidden benefits have been that my social and businesses networks have grown 10 fold. I now have some great friends and really strong business relationships.
